Border Village Development Program
Key Milestones Achieved
India has 15,106.7 kms of border land with six countries, most of which lie in the inaccessible terrains of the Himalayas. More often than not, the villages lying close to the border areas face inequality in terms of accessing better livelihood opportunities and/or assured food and nutrition security. The challenges faced are further escalated courtesy the location of these villages in high security zones as they carry a constant sense of threat, conflict and unrest. There is an urgent need to prioritize the development of border villages. At HUM, we firmly believe that villages are a reflection of the culture and true essence of India. Unless the border villages prosper – the country shall not!
