Nidhi Muthane
Having a completed her Masters in Social Work, she is a dedicated social worker and educationist, deeply connected to the Himalayas. In 2024, she joined the Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP) as the State Coordinator for Ladakh, where she works passionately to bring transformative change to remote communities.
With a background in psychology and social work, she has previously held leadership roles, ardently worked for the welfare of animals, her work has focused on education, mental health, and project management, as well as sustainability initiatives, such as waste management and community development.
Now at SSRDP, she is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges of Ladakh. She advocates for collaboration among local communities, government bodies, and organizations to create sustainable solutions. Her work prioritizes skill development, mental health awareness, and environmental protection, aiming to build long-lasting, positive impacts for Ladakh’s residents.
Inspired by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s vision for the Himalayas, she echoes his words: “The Himalayas are a source of pride for the world and a lifeline for over billion inhabitants.” She believes that preserving the region’s sacredness requires cooperation and innovation at both local and global levels.
In her role, she is excited to introduce initiatives that promote community resilience, skill development, and sustainable livelihoods. Her efforts focus on ensuring that Ladakh’s growth is both respectful of its unique heritage and responsive to the needs of its people. Through her leadership, she hopes to contribute to preserving the Himalayas’ natural and cultural legacy for future generations while empowering Ladakh’s communities to thrive.
